Monroe Tractor

You sold what to Boston Logan?

There is a first for everything and this time Monroe Tractors Agriculture division crossed state lines and industries to deliver the first of its kind, a Case IH 580 Quadtrac with a 20’ Grouser blade to Massport at Boston Logan Airport. Why does an airport need a piece of agriculture equipment like that you ask? To remove snow.  There are a lot of runways Massport Operators are responsible for clearing but this will be used to clear a lot of the other areas we don’t think about at an airport when it snows. The 20’ blade and tracked machine’s main use will be to clear the road to the control tower, another very important road to have clear.

This massive machine had the Massport Operators buzzing when Product Specialist, Seth Conway and Machine Tech, Steve VanNorstrand spent the day going over its operations and mechanics. Seth spent the morning walking operators through the basics of the machine, getting them acclimated to the controls and working with each of them making sure they are ready to roll when the snow flies. Steve worked with the mechanics getting them up to speed on areas that may need attention and ways to keep the equipment running it’s best this winter.

Here’s to a “wicked wintah” Boston! Enjoy.
