Two decades of golfing for education

Customers, vendors, and employees alike took to the Batavia Country Club range Wednesday, June 20th to support the Monroe Tractor Agriculture Scholarship.

Each year, a young adult graduating from high school is selected by the scholarship committee. The individual then receives $1,000 at the end of each successful academic year to help cover the costs of higher education, for a maximum for $4,000 over four years. This year, however, we are incredibly fortunate to have two winners to represent the two decades we've run the scholarship!

We would like to congratulate Alyssa Root and Katelyn O'Hare for winning this year's scholarship!

Alyssa will attend GCC this fall to receive her Associate's in Applied Sciences with a Licensed Veterinary Technician Certificate. From there, she plans to transfer to Cornell University to complete her Bachelor's in Veterinary Science. Her goal is to open a local clinic to serve her community as a doctor of veterinary medicine.

Katelyn O'Hare will attend Cornell University this fall to major in biological science with a concentration in molecular and cellular biology. Her goal is to become a researcher in the agricultural field, working to develop more efficient ways to produce food.

Addison Precision Team #2 won the golf tournament, but these two young women are the true winners! Congratulations to all, and thank you for making this such a terrific community event.
