On June 17, Monroe Tractor participated in the Ocean State Equipment Show, joining municipal professionals, contractors, and industry partners from across Rhode Island for a day focused on equipment, training, and networking. The event attracted approximately 650 attendees and provided an opportunity for public works departments and contractors to explore the latest equipment and technologies available to support their operations.
In addition to the equipment displays and exhibits, the Rhode Island Public Works Association (RIPWA) offered valuable training opportunities throughout the day, including Flagger Certification and CPR classes. These educational sessions helped attendees expand their skills while reinforcing the importance of safety and workforce development within the industry.
At the Monroe Tractor exhibit, attendees were invited to participate in a Backhoe Challenge featuring the CASE 580SN Backhoe. Participants tested their skills by safely operating the machine and completing a series of assigned tasks within a simulated active work zone. The challenge provided a hands-on opportunity to experience the versatility, precision, and performance of one of CASE’s most popular backhoe models.
The event also included the presentation of the 2026 RIPWA Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions within Rhode Island’s public works community. This year’s honorees included the Smithfield Department of Public Works as Department of the Year, Fred Gomes of East Greenwich as Director of the Year, and Daren McConnell of Narragansett as Superintendent of the Year.
The Ocean State Equipment Show continues to serve as an important gathering for the public works and construction industries, bringing together equipment manufacturers, dealers, contractors, and municipal leaders from throughout the region. Monroe Tractor was proud to be part of another successful event and appreciates everyone who stopped by throughout the day.
The Monroe Tractor and CASE teams look forward to continuing their partnership with RIPWA at the upcoming Driver Training and Snowplow Roadeo on July 16.
